Admissions & Registration
Undergraduate admissions are based on GCE A/L results through the UGC. Applications open annually and are announced on the university website, national newspapers, and the UGC portal. Visit the Admissions page for eligibility criteria and deadlines.
Yes. Each faculty operates a Postgraduate Unit offering M.A., M.Sc., M.Phil., MBA, M.Com., and Ph.D. programmes. Check individual faculty pages for programme details, requirements, and application windows.
Yes. SEUSL welcomes international students. Dedicated support is available for admissions guidance, visa processing, and onboarding. Contact the Office of International Affairs (OIA) for details.
Course registration forms are available from the respective faculty office and on the Downloads page. Complete and submit the form by the deadline announced at the start of each semester.
Academic Life
SEUSL has six faculties: Engineering, Arts & Culture, Management & Commerce, Technology, Applied Sciences, and Islamic Studies & Arabic Language. Each offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
The VLE is the university's online learning management system (Moodle-based) where lecturers share course materials, assignments, and announcements. Students access it at vle.seu.ac.lk using their university credentials.
Each programme follows a semester-based examination system with continuous assessments (assignments, mid-terms, presentations) and final examinations. Examination regulations are available on the Downloads page.
Yes, the primary medium of instruction is English for most programmes. Some programmes in the Faculty of Arts & Culture and Faculty of Islamic Studies are offered in Tamil or Arabic as applicable.
Student Services
Yes. SEUSL provides hostel facilities for both male and female students. Accommodation is allocated based on distance from the university. Application forms are available on the Downloads page.
Yes. The university offers Mahapola scholarships, bursaries, and other financial aid through the Student Welfare Division. External scholarships are also announced periodically on the notice board and website.
Yes. The University Health Centre is staffed with a Medical Officer and nurses providing free medical consultations, first aid, and referral services during working hours.
The Career Guidance Unit organises workshops, mock interviews, CV clinics, and industry placement support. Visit the Student Life page or contact the CGU directly for schedules.
Library & IT
Use the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) at opac.lib.seu.ac.lk to search for books, journals, and other resources available in the Main Library and branch libraries.
Yes. E-resources and digital library access is available remotely through the university proxy. Visit the Library page for access links and login instructions.
University email accounts (@seu.ac.lk) are provisioned by the ICT Centre upon registration. Contact the ICT Centre help desk if you haven't received your credentials.
Yes. The campus is covered by the eduroam Wi-Fi network. Students authenticate using their university email credentials. Coverage extends to libraries, lecture halls, and common areas.
